Growth is right and important. But not at any price. In an environment of increasing project complexity, aerne engineering is strengthening its operational management with the Co-CEO Board and creating clear decision-making structures.
Growth brings new challenges. Projects are becoming more complex, systems more individual, dependencies more dense. In this environment, leadership must do one thing above all else: create clarity and remain flexible. That is precisely why _ae has been focusing on a more agile style of leadership since the beginning of 2026.
Raphael Schärer (Co-CEO Finance & Technology), Swen Fürer (Co-CEO Markets & Partnerships), and Roger Eberle (Co-CEO Organization & Excellence) jointly lead aerne engineering on the Co-CEO Board. All three are co-owners; Raphael Schärer is Chairman of the Board of Directors, while Swen Fürer and Roger Eberle are members of the Board of Directors.
The co-CEOs share responsibility, decisions, and perspectives—with clearly assigned areas of responsibility and short decision-making paths. Different opinions are expressly welcome. They sharpen priorities, shorten coordination processes, and increase the quality of decisions.
As the central operational management body, the Co-CEO Board consolidates control over the market, projects, organization, and excellence. Decision-making and escalation paths are clearly defined, prioritization is more stringent, and capacities are continuously coordinated. This reduces interfaces, increases transparency, and speeds up day-to-day operations.
What does this mean for operational implementation? Better control of projects, resources, and bottlenecks. Deliverability becomes more predictable, even in highly complex situations. Close integration with specialist and support teams ensures that management remains close to the projects and silos do not arise in the first place.
This also benefits customers: through direct contacts, consistent communication, and an organization that can react quickly and flexibly when requirements change. At the same time, the focus remains clearly on quality, standards, and continuous improvement.
What remains unchanged are the values of _ae. The clear customer focus and close cooperation with the teams remain fundamental. The Board of Directors remains the supreme governing body. Operational management is regulated by the Co-CEO Board.
