Benefits
Starting point
An insert supply system for an injection-molding system is required for the automated production of a new customer component.
Solution
The bushings are conveyed using a part hopper in the spiral feeder bowl. Using this spiral feeder bowl, the insert bushings are separated in 2 lines and fed to the rotary separator. There, the robot removes the parts and places each of the insert bushings on one of the two shuttle plates. The cavity spacing of the tool is stored on the shuttle plates. This way, afterwards, the insertion handling unit can remove the bushings from the shuttle plates and insert them in the tool at the correct distance.
Advantages for the customer
Thanks to the fully automatic process, the injection-molded parts, incl. insert components, can be produced in one process. Fully automatic production of injection-molded parts, incl. supply of insert components. The automation system is autonomous for 4h, and must therefore only be refilled with bulk material every half a day.
